Meet the Team

Meet the ACF Taiwan Missions 2008 Team:

ChengJou Liao, graduate student (team leader)

The reasons for me to pursue missions abroad is two-fold: 1) To be challenged to work in a way that contributes directly to God’s Kingdom on a daily basis; that is, to grow nearer to Him personally by learning to love the lost.

2) To challenge the brothers and sisters of Asian Christian Fellowship to not be satisfied with only their own personal relationsip with Christ, but instead be living wholeheartedly for the cause of the Great Commission

Brendan Kiu, sophomore (team leader)

God’s working. Everywhere. And one of the most humbling privileges we have is to take part in what He’s doing, yet still be reminded that we fully rely on Him to actually change anything. We serve a God who isn’t limited by physical or geographical boundaries, and there’s no better way to see that than missions.

Rebecca Wei, class of 2008

I am going on missions for a number of reasons. I think I had always said that I would do missions when I had time (and every summer I had to find a job), and now that I have time, I wish I had made time for missions earlier. As such, however, I want to take advantage of this time that I have to grow through God’s work. I feel like I have a heart for peers and teenagers, a passion that has manifested itself in my leading a cell group here at ACF as well as working with the youth group at my home church. I suppose that also on a more individual basis, I want a big opportunity for God to work through me, by putting myself in a situation where I am obviously not as comfortable and with which I am not as familiar, so that I definitely have to depend on Him more.

Kevin Lin, senior

I decided to go to Taiwan because I want to see how God is working in the hearts of these kids. I’m going because I feel God pulling me away from the comforts of home (having money and security, being with friends, etc…) and pushing me towards taking more and more risks for Him. “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.” Luke 9:23-24

Brian Luong, junior

This year I have been truly blessed to have been given the opportunity to do missions in Taiwan. I believe that it was truly God’s will to put missions on my heart. Through missions this summer, I want to serve the Lord and his people as he has served me.
